Reg (VK6BQQ) was saying that he wanted a few block diagrams, so I have included one. Actually I do have a program that will create the diagrams, however what I need are the 'blocks' in SVG format that represent radio. I am looking.

Ecolink is a peer to peer controlled VoIP client. It allows computer to computer access via the Echolink security server. It allows connection directly, via links or repeaters. Links and repeaters are so indicated to users of Echolink, and a list of these are available. The current version also allows the conferencing of users directly (without need for other software). There are three clients, one for Windows, one for Android and one for iOS.

Asterisk conferences indicated with a '*' at the beginning and end of a conference name are controlled by a separate software package 'thebridge' which is available via CQInet

In order to use 'thebridge' on Echolink you must first register a conference, which requires a fee of US$40.00 per annum. You can find out more about conferencing (including how to register) on the Echolink page at Conference Servers

The same conference software is used to provide connections between IRLP and IRLP reflectors. It is also used for 'theLinkBox' and 'asterisk'. Allstar uses Asterisk as it's networking component, and 'theLinkBox' allows for direct connection of links or repeaters to 'thebridge', and 'thebridge' also has 'avrs' which will connect to 'aprs' in order to spot your repeaters and links.

This allows for parallel networks that are able to share Echolink * conferences with IRLP Reflectors and Allstar Nodes.

Echolima is a project to replace each of these components for Echolink, and to for a separate, parallel networking system that addresses some of the shortcomings of the existing softare, and add some functions via it's own network. The project will be programmed entirely in Swift

Currently portions of 'thebridge' in the *ECHOLIMA* conference (Echolink node 9221) have been reprogrammed. Some of the original C code has been encapsulated for use in Swift, and some of the functions of the software have been entirely reworked.

Can you help?

We need your help. If you can program in C or Swift, if you operate networks via VoIP networks, if you can draw or document the project, if you are willing to (when required) validate users, or if you are just willing to listen and learn about VoIP and RoIP we would like to have you participate. Join us on our weekly net on *TECHLINK* (Echolink node 9229) Monday evenings (Tuesday UTC 01:30).
